Taliban Ministry Sets Working Hours for Government Offices During Ramadan

The Taliban’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has announced that during the holy month of Ramadan, government offices will operate from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to this announcement, Thursdays are included in this schedule, with a break allocated for the noon prayer.
A statement released by the ministry clarifies that production and service institutions, continuously active sectors, as well as media, health, education, and higher education institutions, may adjust their working hours according to the nature of their work, climatic conditions of various regions, and related regulations.
Every year, working hours in government offices change during Ramadan; officials say this measure aims to provide convenience for fasting employees. However, the implementation of these schedules in local offices and remote areas generally depends on the available facilities and capacities of each institution.
