Seventh Kyrgyzstan-EU Cooperation Meeting Held in Bishkek

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan announced that the seventh meeting of the Subcommittee on Development Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union was held on Friday in the city of Bishkek. The meeting focused on basic priorities, investment, and the implementation process of key cooperation tools between the two parties.

The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Madar Abakirov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the EU delegation was led by Charlotte Adrian, Head of the Central Asia and Afghanistan Section in the Directorate for International Partnerships of the European Commission. Representatives from several Kyrgyz government agencies also participated in the talks.

During the meeting, Charlotte Adrian recalled progress made under the “Global Gateway” initiative and highlighted the signing of a cooperation memorandum between Kyrgyzstan and the European Investment Bank in the energy sector as an important step.

In conclusion, both parties exchanged views on fundamental issues of bilateral and regional cooperation and identified priorities to strengthen relations and increase the effectiveness of collaborations in areas of mutual interest.
