Azerbaijan Releases 14 Afghan Prisoners Following Taliban Diplomatic Efforts

The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the release of 14 Afghan prisoners in the Republic of Azerbaijan, ordered by the country’s leadership. According to the ministry, this action resulted from persistent follow-ups by the Afghan embassy in Baku.

The statement noted that the release of these prisoners was made possible by special directives from the Taliban administration and diplomatic efforts by Afghanistan’s representation in Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its relevant institutions for their cooperation and what it described as a “humanitarian act.”

It also emphasized that efforts to pursue and resolve the cases of other Afghan prisoners abroad will continue.
