Kabul Municipality Denies Reports of New Environmental Fines

A representative of Kabul Municipality has denied circulating reports on some fake pages about the approval of a new law imposing fines on environmental offenders.

Nematullah Barkazi, a spokesperson for Kabul Municipality, stated that in recent days, social media has been abuzz with claims that the municipality has enacted a new law to punish violators with one day of forced labor. However, he clarified that no such decision has been made.

According to Barkazi, this kind of information is being spread by unofficial and fake sources, and citizens should not trust these reports.

Barkazi emphasized that residents of Kabul can only obtain accurate and reliable information about the municipality’s activities, regulations, principles, and guidelines from the official addresses, channels, and pages of the Kabul Municipality.
