Lapid Announces Plan to Declare Qatar an ‘Enemy State’ in Israeli Parliament

Yair Lapid, leader of the opposition in the occupied territories, has announced that he will submit a draft law to the Israeli parliament to designate Qatar as an ‘enemy state.’

According to Lapid, if this bill passes, all legal measures that Tel Aviv applies against hostile countries will also be enforced against Qatar. He claimed that these actions include restrictions and policies previously implemented against other countries.

The opposition leader further alleged that Qatar has deliberately and continuously acted against Tel Aviv’s security and political interests over the years. He cited Doha’s support for groups like Hamas and what he described as ‘infiltration into the Israeli prime minister’s office’ as reasons behind this move.

These remarks come while Qatar has previously condemned the ongoing aggressions by the Israeli regime and violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, describing these actions as undermining regional and international efforts to secure peace and stability. Critics say such proposals should be viewed as political provocations aimed at masking Tel Aviv’s internal and regional crises.
