Investors Call for Establishment of Large Cement Factory in Kunduz Province

A group of joint Afghan and foreign investors met with Mawlawi Habibur Rahman Soheib, the deputy governor of Kunduz province, to request the establishment of a major cement factory in the region.
According to a statement from the Kunduz provincial press office, the investors include two individuals from China, one from Tajikistan, and one Afghan investor. They announced that after securing a 10-square-kilometer area in Aliabad district, they will begin construction of a large cement production and processing plant.
The investors stated that the factory will have a daily production capacity of approximately 2,500 to 3,000 tons of cement and could create job opportunities for thousands of people across various sectors.
Mawlawi Habibur Rahman Soheib welcomed the proposal during the meeting and assured that the leadership of Kunduz province and relevant departments, under Taliban administration, would support the investors and provide necessary facilities within available means.
He also claimed that with the provision of security in the country, the confidence of both domestic and foreign investors has increased. This claim comes amid ongoing demands from economic activists for transparency, legal stability, and practical guarantees to ensure sustainable investment.
