UNRWA Serves as the Sole Healthcare Provider for Many Palestinian Refugees

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has stated that for many Palestinian refugees, the agency acts as the last and only option for accessing healthcare services.
According to published information, UNRWA’s services encompass a wide range of healthcare, from basic medical care to the treatment of chronic diseases and life-saving therapies considered essential for patients’ survival.
The UN agency reported that in Lebanon alone, approximately 900,000 medical consultations have been provided by UNRWA health centers, with nearly 200,000 patients receiving treatment.
UNRWA delivers these services through 26 health centers in Lebanon, facilities that play a crucial role in ensuring at least minimal access to healthcare for many Palestinian refugees in the absence of alternative options.
