Afghanistan Weather Authority Warns of Rain and Snow in Seven Provinces

The Meteorological Department of the Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation has issued a warning about the possibility of rain and snowfall in seven provinces of Afghanistan, a phenomenon that could disrupt transportation and daily life for residents in these areas.

According to a bulletin released by the department on Tuesday, 6th Dalw, the provinces included in this forecast are Badakhshan, Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kapisa, and Panjshir, with precipitation expected to begin from tomorrow.

The statement notes that rainfall amounts are predicted to range between 10 to 25 millimeters in various locations, while snow accumulation could reach 10 to 25 centimeters. This situation, especially in mountainous regions, increases the risk of road closures.

Meanwhile, the Taliban administration reported that more than 61 people have lost their lives during recent rainfall events in the country. This statistic has once again raised concerns about the lack of preparedness, weak crisis management, and insufficient attention to the safety of residents against natural disasters.
