King Salman Humanitarian Center Distributes Aid to Thousands of Needy Families in Northern Afghanistan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center of Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with a local organization, has distributed relief packages to four thousand needy families in the provinces of Kunduz, Takhar, and Badakhshan in northern Afghanistan. These aids target internally displaced families, returnees from Iran and Pakistan, and victims of natural disasters.
Shahzamin Hilal, Deputy of the Tohid Foundation, stated that with financial support from the King Salman Center, aid has been delivered to two thousand families solely in Kunduz province. According to him, the assistance reached returnees, internally displaced families, orphans, widows, and other vulnerable individuals.
In Badakhshan, Qiyamuddin Ghazizadeh, Head of the Directorate of Refugees and Returnees Affairs, confirmed that one thousand registered families in the province have received aid. He added that despite the widespread needs, supporting these families represents a significant step.
Meanwhile, several aid recipients expressed gratitude for the assistance and urged the Taliban administration and aid organizations to increase support during the cold winter. Abdulruf, an internally displaced person, said this is the first time he has received food supplies, but noted that it is insufficient for his eight-member family.
These remarks come as the World Food Programme recently warned that the food security situation in Afghanistan remains critical, with millions of residents facing severe food shortages.
