Four Arrested for Illegal Excavation of Historical Site in Nimroz

Local officials in Nimroz province have announced that security forces arrested four individuals accused of illegal excavation at a historical site in Chakhansur district.
Mawlawi Nooruddin Hamza, the administrative chief of Chakhansur district, stated that these individuals were identified and apprehended while conducting unauthorized digging at a historical location. He added that one vehicle, one excavator, and one shovel were confiscated from the detainees.
At the same time, Mufti Habibullah Elham, head of the Information and Culture Department of Nimroz, emphasized the importance of protecting historical artifacts, stressing that safeguarding these areas is a collective responsibility. He noted that according to a decree issued by the leader of the Taliban administration, no one has the right to destroy or illegally excavate historical sites.
The head of Information and Culture also reported cooperation from provincial officials on this matter and urged the residents to collaborate in preserving the country’s national, cultural, and historical heritage—an effort he described as a national duty.
