Iran’s President Highlights Improved Regional Relations, Including with Afghanistan

Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, announced that the country’s relations with all neighboring and regional states, including Afghanistan, have improved across various fields, and Iran’s path of foreign engagements is expanding. In an interview with an Iranian media outlet, he emphasized that despite existing challenges, the process of establishing and developing Iran’s international relations continues, with Tehran seeking to broaden the scope of its regional cooperation. The Iranian president also dismissed reports claiming weaknesses in the government’s structure and performance as unfounded, stating that these accusations do not align with the current realities. Given their geographical proximity, historical ties, and economic and social interactions, Iran and Afghanistan have always influenced each other, and developments in their bilateral relations hold significant importance for the region.
