Bodies of Three Tajikistan Border Attackers Identified, Linked to Taliban-Supported Group

Sources familiar with the matter have provided the newspaper 8sob to images of the bodies of three attackers who were killed after opening fire on Tajik border guards. According to these sources, the deceased are attributed to fighters of the Tajik group “Ansarullah,” which is supported by the Taliban administration.
Based on the information provided, these militants operated in border areas, and their leadership is assigned to “Haji Bashir Nurzi,” known as the drug lord godfather of Afghanistan and one of the figures connected to the leader of the Taliban administration. The sources add that this network has played an organizing role along the borders.
However, Tajik security officials have so far not released official details regarding the attackers’ identities. This silence comes amid recent clashes in which two Tajik border guards were killed.
In the latest statement, the Tajikistan National Security Committee confirmed the deaths of two of its border guards and an attack launched from Afghan territory. The body has called on the Taliban leadership to apologize and take effective measures to prevent the recurrence of terrorist attacks; a demand that once again raises questions about the Taliban administration’s accountability for border security and controlling armed groups.
Earlier reports also indicated that five Chinese citizens were killed in attacks originating from Afghan territory along the Tajikistan border; incidents that have heightened concerns over the security implications of armed groups’ activities in border regions.
