Putin Pledges Russia’s Support for Venezuela Against External Pressures

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, in a New Year’s congratulatory message to Nicolás Maduro, stated that Moscow continues to stand by Venezuela and its people against external pressures.
In this message, Putin described the bilateral relations between Russia and Venezuela over the past year as “very successful” and expressed satisfaction with the progress of cooperation between the two countries. He said that interactions between Moscow and Caracas have been expanding across various sectors.
The Russian president also emphasized the importance of the cooperation and strategic partnership treaty between the two countries; an agreement that, according to him, has provided the necessary foundation to strengthen qualitative and constructive cooperation in various fields.
Referring to what he called unprecedented external pressures on Venezuela, Putin stressed Russia’s steadfast solidarity with the Venezuelan people and announced Moscow’s readiness to continue close cooperation with Caracas on bilateral and international issues.
He concluded by wishing Nicolás Maduro health and success, and peace and prosperity for the people of Venezuela.
