179 Afghan Nationals Detained in Pakistan’s Balochistan During Intelligence Operations

Security officials in Pakistan’s Balochistan province have reported the arrest of 179 Afghan citizens during intelligence operations conducted in the Nokundi and Taftan areas of Chagai district. According to these officials, the individuals had entered Pakistani territory through a rarely used route without legal documentation.
The operations were carried out to control illegal movements along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Chagai district, located in southwestern Pakistan and bordering Afghanistan’s Nimruz province, is known as a common route for migrants.
Meanwhile, last week a traffic incident in the Nokundi area resulted in the deaths of 11 Afghan citizens, with 9 others injured. Further details regarding the cause of the accident have not been disclosed.
These events underscore once again the vulnerable situation of Afghan nationals on migration routes, where the lack of legal pathways forces many to resort to unsafe and risky passages.
