Heavy Snowfall Closes Kotel Bekk Pass on Kabul-Ghor Highway

Heavy snowfall last night at Kotel Bekk Pass has completely closed the Kabul-Ghor highway to traffic, halting vehicle movement along this route.

The Public Works Department of Ghor province announced that the route has been shut due to the intensity of the snowfall, and currently, passage is impossible. Local officials report that this situation has caused difficulties for residents along the road and travelers.

Additionally, the Bandbayan area, which connects six southwestern districts of Ghor province to Firozkoh city—the provincial capital—has also been blocked because of the snow, disrupting access for these districts to the provincial center.

The Public Works Department of Ghor emphasized that efforts are underway to reopen the highway and other blocked routes, with ongoing operations to clear the snow and resume vehicle traffic.
