Mine Clearance Agreement Signed for Five Northern Provinces of Afghanistan

The National Disaster Preparedness Administration under Taliban rule has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Afghanistan Mine Clearance Institute. According to this agreement, mine clearance and public awareness programs will be implemented in several northern provinces of the country.
According to information released by the administration’s press office, the agreement, valued at two hundred thousand, was signed between Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the General Head of the administration, and Bismillah Haqmal, the Operations Manager of the Afghanistan Mine Clearance Institute. This program covers the provinces of Balkh, Faryab, Samangan, Jawzjan, and Sar-e Pol.
Within the framework of this agreement, rapid and technical mine clearance teams will operate in areas contaminated with mines and other explosive materials. At the same time, public awareness campaigns will be launched for local residents about the dangers of these materials—an essential measure to reduce civilian casualties.
During the meeting, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi requested the implementing institute to carry out the project with full transparency and within the specified timeframe. In response, Bismillah Haqmal provided details about the project, emphasizing that the implementation process will proceed without delay.
