Taliban Ministry Signs 30-Year Marble Mining Contract in Daikundi

The Taliban’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has announced the signing of a 30-year contract for the extraction of marble from the “Mash Alia” mine in Daikundi province with a private company. The agreement was signed by Mullah Hidayatullah Badri, the acting head of the ministry.
According to the provided information, the contracting company has committed to investing 283 million Afghanis in the exploration and extraction of the mine. It has also been stated that in addition to providing some social services, this project will create employment opportunities for more than 200 local residents.
At the time of signing the contract, Mullah Hidayatullah Badri said that implementing this agreement could help increase national revenues and simultaneously create new job opportunities for the local people.
According to the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, the marble extracted will be processed domestically and then exported to foreign markets. However, details regarding oversight, contract transparency, and the exact share of local communities in the benefits of this project have not yet been clearly explained.
