Trump Vows to Maintain Sanctions Against Venezuela

U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that Washington will not allow any party to circumvent the sanctions imposed on Venezuela. His remarks were part of broader comments focused on the United States’ policy of economic pressure against Caracas.
Trump expressed dissatisfaction over the expulsion of American companies from Venezuela, stating, in his view, the country has “taken our oil,” and that the U.S. wants it back. These comments come as Venezuela, home to one of the world’s largest oil reserves, continues to face extensive export restrictions.
In related developments, Bloomberg News reported that as a result of U.S. sanctions on Venezuelan oil exports, storage facilities in the country are nearing capacity. This situation may place additional operational and economic pressure on Venezuela’s energy sector.
Meanwhile, Politico, citing informed sources, reported that the Trump administration has held discussions with several American oil companies about the possibility of returning to Venezuela in a post-Nicolás Maduro era. However, those sources indicated that the companies have clearly stated they are not interested in returning or investing in Venezuela, even after Maduro’s potential departure.
