Taliban Claims Full Control Over Afghanistan’s Security Amid International Concerns

The Taliban administration has asserted that Afghanistan’s security situation is fully under control, pushing back against recent warnings from Russia, several regional countries, and United Nations reports.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, rejected concerns over the expansion of terrorist groups, stating that Afghanistan is currently “completely secure.” He said allegations raised by international organizations and some countries do not reflect the reality on the ground.
Mujahid also dismissed UN reports about the growing presence of ISIS cells in Afghanistan as “Western propaganda,” insisting that the group lacks the capability to carry out widespread and organized operations across various regions of the country.
These comments come despite repeated warnings from international bodies and several regional nations about potential threats posed by extremist groups operating within Afghanistan. More than three years after the Taliban’s return to power, those concerns remain unaddressed in a transparent and verifiable manner, raising serious questions about the actual state of security and the administration’s accountability regarding global apprehensions.
