Putin Arrives in Turkmenistan for Two-Day Visit and International Peace Conference

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, at the start of a two-day official visit. According to the TASS news agency, the main purpose of the visit is to attend the international conference titled “Peace and Trust: Aligning Goals for a Sustainable Future.”

As part of this trip, Putin is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with regional leaders. News agencies have reported that he will also meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, though no specific details of their discussions have yet been published by either side.

The international conference brings together leaders from several Asian and European nations. Among the attendees are Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and the presidents of Armenia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Additionally, the prime ministers of Azerbaijan, Hungary, Georgia, and Pakistan are also expected to participate in the summit.

The annual “Peace and Trust” conference held in Ashgabat serves as a platform for dialogue on regional relations and aims to strengthen political and economic cooperation among Central Asian countries.
