China Urges Military Restraint and Dialogue to Ease Middle East Tensions

Amid rising tensions in the region, China has once again emphasized that the use of military means only exacerbates crises and serves no party’s interests. Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in a press conference in Beijing that all involved parties must adhere to peaceful solutions and resolve their disputes through dialogue and negotiation to restore calm to the Middle East and the Gulf region as soon as possible.
These remarks come amid growing concerns over the potential resumption of attacks by US or Israeli forces against Iran following the US midterm elections. Earlier, Wang Yi, Acting Foreign Minister of China, hosted senior officials from Saudi Arabia and Iran, stressing the importance of dialogue and political solutions to resolve disagreements in separate meetings.
He also called for rebuilding mutual trust among the Gulf countries, as ongoing tensions and political differences continue to affect the region’s stability. China’s stance, as a nation with diplomatic influence in the area, could play a role in mitigating crises; however, the practical impact of these warnings and appeals remains uncertain given the complex local conflicts.
