Taliban Officials Say Kabul’s Efforts to Ease Tensions with Pakistan Have Failed

Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban administration, stated that Kabul has made its latest efforts to reduce tensions with Islamabad through dialogue and negotiation, but so far these attempts have been unsuccessful.
In an interview with a local radio station, Mujahid confirmed the exchange of messages between Kabul and Islamabad and added that the efforts of mediating countries and Taliban officials to ease tensions between the two nations have also been fruitless.
He further claimed that Pakistan’s insistence on flawed policies has prevented resolving issues through peaceful means, and Islamabad lacks the necessary readiness to ease tensions.
The Taliban spokesman emphasized that Afghanistan was not the initiator of these problems and continues to believe in resolving disagreements through negotiation and dialogue.
