Helmand Province Boosts Agricultural Exports with Expanded Processing Facilities

Seyed Karim Hashemi, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, stated in a meeting with several traders and investors from Helmand province that efforts to establish domestic processing facilities for the province’s agricultural products and to find foreign markets for sales are ongoing.
Mr. Hashemi emphasized that building processing capacities within the country can increase the added value of agricultural products and create better opportunities to present these products in international markets.
Helmand is one of the major provinces producing agricultural products, and the development of domestic processing can help improve farmers’ economic conditions and increase their income.
So far, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has launched several programs to support investment in the agricultural product processing sector in this province, aiming to strengthen exports and reduce dependence on domestic markets.
