UN warns of worsening conditions for Gaza’s Palestinian displaced ahead of winter

The United Nations has warned in a new report about the critical situation facing about 950,000 Palestinian displaced people in the Gaza Strip as winter and rainfall approach.
The report says more than 400,000 of these displaced people are living in high-risk areas, and that aid delivered has reached only 18% of needy families, a very small proportion of the total.
Hundreds of thousands of displaced people are currently living in worn-out and inadequate tents that flood with even light rain, making their living conditions even harder. Gaza’s government media office had previously stressed the urgent need to replace these tents.
In addition, the UN report also said there is a hunger crisis among Palestinian displaced people in the Gaza Strip, indicating a worsening of humanitarian problems in the besieged territory.
