Freshwater Network Opens in Faryab With World Vision Support

A water supply network to convert salty water into fresh water has been put into operation in Khwaja Asfalan village of Chahar Gali district in northern Faryab province. The project was built with financial support from World Vision and cost more than 3.4 million afghanis.
With the completion of the network, safe drinking water has been provided for around 600 families in the area, marking a small step toward easing the shortage of clean and safe water. The project was implemented with the aim of giving people access to clean and sanitary water sources.
While many residents of remote areas of Afghanistan are still facing serious problems due to a lack of safe drinking water, this measure comes at a time when the Taliban administration has so far been unable to provide sustainable and widespread water supply services across the country.
World Vision is one of the non-governmental organisations that has been active in recent years in improving access to water and other basic services in Afghanistan.
