Taliban morality minister urges staff to avoid discrimination

Muhammad Khalid Hanafi, acting minister of the Taliban administration’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, told a meeting with ministry employees that all staff must avoid any ethnic, linguistic or personal discrimination and treat people with kindness and professionalism.
According to a statement from the ministry, Hanafi called for administrative discipline and responsible performance of duties at the meeting, and said that people’s problems must be addressed in a timely manner.
He also stressed that responsible and ethical conduct in line with Islamic principles should be a priority, and that the ministry has a duty to serve people without any discrimination.
This comes as the performance of institutions affiliated with the Taliban administration has in many cases come under criticism for discriminatory treatment and a lack of attention to administrative issues and people’s rights.
