Truck and van collision in Pakistan’s Balochistan kills 7

Pakistani media have reported that at least seven people were killed and more than 30 others injured after a deadly collision between a truck and a passenger van in the Mach area of Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

According to Irav, the incident occurred when the truck crashed into the van due to a “major technical fault,” after which both vehicles veered off the road and fell into a ravine.

Rescue teams said operations at the scene have been completed. Health officials said the injured were taken to Quetta hospitals for treatment, and the condition of several of the wounded was reported to be critical.

Road accidents, especially on Balochistan’s mountainous routes, periodically cause heavy casualties. Reports cite vehicle wear and tear, technical problems, difficult terrain and the long distance to medical centres as factors worsening the consequences of such incidents.
