Egypt Says Forced Displacement of Palestinians from Gaza Is a Red Line
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has stressed that the forced displacement of Palestinians from their land is a red line for Cairo, adding that Egypt will block any attempt to bring about such a scenario.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, he said Egypt has so far seen no positive signs from the Israeli regime regarding the implementation of the second phase of Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza.
According to the Egyptian foreign minister, Palestinian groups have taken a responsible approach to handing over weapons, a position he said was worthy of praise.
Abdelatty also said Cairo is awaiting positive action from the Israeli regime regarding the deployment of an international stabilisation force in the Gaza Strip.
He had previously also stressed advancing the next phases of the Gaza agreement and creating the conditions for the deployment of an international force in the enclave. The Gaza Strip is a coastal strip in Palestine that in recent months has been at the centre of intense political and military tensions in the region.
