Taliban Says Fake Honey Factory Uncovered in Nangarhar

The Taliban administration says a factory producing fake honey has been identified in the Ninth Security District of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province. The administration said eight people have also been arrested in connection with the case.

A news release from the Taliban’s police command in Nangarhar said the factory was making fake honey from glucose. The administration did not release further details on the amount of production or how long the factory had been operating.

According to the source, those arrested confessed to the crime in initial investigations. The Taliban administration added that the case will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities after preliminary inquiries are completed.

Jalalabad is the capital of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan and is considered one of the province’s major commercial cities.
