WHO Says Laboratory Testing Capacity Increased at Bamyan Hospital
The World Health Organization says the testing capacity at the provincial hospital in Bamyan has increased after modern equipment was provided to its molecular diagnostics laboratory.
The organisation wrote on its X page on Saturday that the equipment was procured with support from the European Union and will help health workers carry out disease diagnosis more quickly and accurately.
According to the World Health Organization, with these facilities now operational, thousands of people in Bamyan and nearby provinces can receive diagnostic services closer to where they live.
Molecular diagnostic laboratories play an important role in the faster detection of diseases, and access to these services in remote provinces is considered important for reducing patients’ travel and speeding up treatment.
