Taliban leader appoints three officials to new posts
The Taliban administration has announced the reassignment of three senior officials in a new decree by Hibatullah Akhundzada, marking another round of changes among the group’s internal figures.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban administration’s spokesman, said that under the decree, Sheikh Abdulbar Haqqani, the former head of the military court in Ghazni zone, has been appointed head of the General Directorate for Monitoring and Enforcement of Decrees and Orders.
According to the Taliban administration, Mawlawi Shamsuddin Shariati, who previously led the same department, has now been appointed governor of Uruzgan province.
Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Kunduzi, the former governor of Uruzgan, has also been appointed governor of Logar province under the decree.
The General Directorate for Monitoring and Enforcement of Decrees and Orders is considered one of the bodies responsible for following up and implementing the leadership’s orders within the Taliban administration, while Uruzgan and Logar are also regarded as important administrative provinces in southern and eastern Afghanistan.
