Taliban Administration Says It Held Talks With Malaysia on Education and Technical Cooperation

The Taliban administration said Shuayb Baryalai, the first political director of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Dato Muhammad Yani, deputy secretary-general of Malaysia’s Ministry of Defence, and the two sides discussed educational and technical cooperation.

According to the published report, the focus of the meeting was bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Malaysia, as well as ties between the defence institutions of the two sides. The Taliban administration said the talks also stressed progress in relations between the two countries.

The Taliban administration also claimed that the two sides discussed expanding cooperation based on shared interests and called for further strengthening ties between Afghanistan and Malaysia.

Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country, and diplomatic relations between Kabul and Kuala Lumpur have in recent years also been discussed in political, educational and technical fields.
