Taliban Administration Seeks Private Sector Support for ‘Victory Day’ Celebrations

Taliban officials have called on representatives from the country’s industry, commerce, and agriculture sectors to collaborate in organizing events across provinces to mark the upcoming 24th of Saratan, known as “Victory Day.” The administration regards this day as a symbol of its regained sovereignty.

According to Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahed, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, during a coordination meeting of the event’s organizing committee, 24th Saratan is considered a “shared pride of all Afghans.” He emphasized the importance of private sector cooperation for the proper celebration of this day in the provinces.

Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture claimed that commemorating this day sends a message to the country’s opponents, showing that after years of hardship, Afghans now live peacefully under a central government.

Mullah Mohammadullah Fetrat, the spokesperson for the Taliban administration, described the country’s history as filled with “achievements” and identified 24th Saratan as one of these milestones. He stated that honoring this day is a “shared responsibility of all.”

In the Taliban’s official calendar, 24th Saratan is marked as the anniversary of the group’s return to power. Every year, affiliated institutions organize official ceremonies and programs to commemorate the day.
