Afghan Liberation Front Reports Death of Two Foreign Fighters in Badakhshan
The Afghan Liberation Front announced that on Friday, 9th of Asad, during an attack on the route leading to Zibak district in Badakhshan province, two “foreign terrorists” were killed and three others were wounded.
According to the front’s statement, the targeted individuals were foreign supporters of the Taliban administration and, as claimed by the front, were not familiar with the local language of the region. The Afghan Liberation Front asserts that these individuals intended to join the Taliban ranks and fight against its forces in Zibak district.
The statement also claimed that the presence of foreign fighters alongside the Taliban administration indicates that Afghanistan under this group’s control continues to serve as a safe haven and breeding ground for “international terrorism.”
The Taliban administration has not yet commented on these allegations.
In recent weeks, the Afghan Liberation Front has intensified its attacks in Badakhshan province, and according to local sources, clashes between this front and Taliban forces have occurred in several areas of Zibak district. Zibak district, located in eastern Badakhshan near the border with China, has witnessed increased security activity in recent months.
