Taliban Officials Meet Kyrgyzstan Delegation in Bishkek to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

The Taliban’s Strategic Studies Center announced that Abdul Hai Qanat, the head of the center, met with Adilbek Uluu Shumkarbek, head of the National Institute of Strategic Initiatives of Kyrgyzstan, in Bishkek. According to the center, the meeting focused on expanding political, economic, scientific, and research cooperation between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as enhancing interaction between the research institutions of the two countries. Regional developments and mutual areas of interest were also included in the agenda of the meeting. According to the Taliban administration, Qanat outlined the foreign policy priorities of the administration and plans related to developing economic and scientific cooperation, emphasizing the importance of joint research. Meanwhile, Shumkarbek expressed support for continued scientific and economic collaboration with Afghanistan and described interaction between the two countries’ research centers as crucial for strengthening regional ties. Abdul Shakoor Haqqani, the chargé d’affaires of Afghanistan’s embassy in Bishkek, also attended the meeting. At the conclusion, both sides emphasized continuing contact and following up on the cooperation discussed.
