Taliban Dispatch Rescue Teams to Flood-Hit Nuristan Province

Following flooding in Parun city, the capital of Nuristan province, several families have faced damage and urgent needs. The Taliban administration announced that rescue teams from the 201st Khalid bin Walid Corps, in coordination with relevant agencies, have been deployed to assist the affected areas.

According to the Taliban’s Ministry of Defense, these teams have delivered a significant amount of essential supplies and first aid to the site of the incident to distribute among thousands of affected individuals. The ministry has not released further details regarding the extent of the damages or the exact number of affected families.

Seasonal floods in Nuristan province impact parts of this mountainous region every year, with residents facing shortages of emergency resources and weak infrastructure. Located in eastern Afghanistan, Nuristan has experienced similar natural incidents in past years.
