Iran’s Foreign Minister Warns US Over Attacks in Phone Call with Pakistani Army Chief

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi held a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir on Thursday, July 9, discussing recent regional developments and attacks attributed to the US military on parts of Iran. He issued a warning against the continuation of these actions.
According to the released report, Araqchi stated that the attacks carried out in various regions of Iran violate the principles of the United Nations Charter as well as the provisions of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. This memorandum had previously been established to end tensions and prevent the escalation of conflicts.
The Iranian foreign minister also expressed concern over statements from some American officials indicating a lack of commitment to this memorandum, viewing it as a sign of Washington’s ongoing confrontational approach.
He emphasized Iran’s insistence on preserving its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security, affirming that the country’s armed forces are ready to defend these principles. No further details of the phone call have been disclosed.
