Afghan Media Widely Covers Funeral of Iran’s Martyr Leader, Emphasizes Massive Attendance and Political Impact

Visual and written media outlets across Afghanistan extensively covered the funeral ceremony of the martyred Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, focusing on the millions of mourners present, the funeral prayer, and the transfer of the body to Iraq. Afghanistan National Television, citing Iranian sources, reported that the number of participants in the ceremony in Iran’s capital was estimated between 15 to 20 million people. The report also stated that around 14,000 domestic and foreign journalists covered the event. Atlas News Agency reported that the funeral prayer was led by Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani in the presence of Iranian civil and military officials as well as international delegations.
