Grenade Explosion at Kabul University Injures Eight Students

Sources have told Amoo that eight students were injured as a result of a grenade explosion last night on the campus of Kabul University. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on the path between the cafeteria and the dormitory of the university. The injured were transferred to Ali Abad Hospital for treatment.

Three students residing in the Kabul University dormitory said the condition of the injured is improving and there is no serious cause for concern. According to them, the explosion was caused by the throwing of a hand grenade.

Two other sources have also confirmed the explosion and stated that the incident happened due to a “hand grenade being thrown.” However, so far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the event.

Witnesses say that after the injured were taken to the hospital, other students were sent back to their rooms and officials did not allow them to leave the dormitory.

The Taliban administration has yet to comment on the circumstances of the explosion, the security measures in place on university grounds, or how explosive materials were brought into the educational center. This silence has increased concerns about the security situation of educational institutions.
