Taliban’s Minister of Intelligence Says ‘We Neither Fear Nor Will Be Defeated’

Sher Ahmad Haqqani, Taliban’s Minister of Intelligence and Culture, declared during a seminar titled ‘Enhancing the Intellectual, Ideological, and Professional Capacity of Journalists’ in Kapisa province that, according to him, no pressure or attack can shake the will of the Afghan people.
In the program, he stated that those who, as he claims, have martyred Afghan children in cruel bombings should understand that the people are not afraid of bombings and hardships. Haqqani further added that they have defeated groups equipped with more advanced technology and modern weapons.
The Taliban’s Minister of Intelligence and Culture emphasized, ‘We neither fear nor will be defeated.’ These statements come as the Taliban administration has faced widespread domestic and international criticism over the past nearly five years regarding restrictions on media and freedom of expression.
The organization of training seminars for journalists by the Taliban administration takes place amid numerous complaints from many media outlets about pressures, work restrictions, and reduced access to information—a matter consistently raised by media-supporting organizations as a serious challenge to the free operation of journalists in the country.
