Rising Road Fatalities in Parwan: Five Dead in Vehicle Overturning

Five people, including women and children, lost their lives and seven others were injured after a Flancoach vehicle overturned in Koh-e-Safi district of Parwan province. The incident occurred last evening in the Mandiqol area.
The Taliban police command in Parwan confirmed the event, stating that the accident happened around 7:00 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the road due to technical issues and overturned. According to the source, the injured were transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
This incident comes amid alarming statistics collected from confirmed traffic accidents between June 29 and July 6, which show that at least 26 people, including 11 children and five women, have died in seven separate events, with at least 46 others injured.
According to these figures, one traffic accident in Laghman province resulted in 18 deaths and 35 injuries. Additionally, two separate incidents in Ghazni province caused one death and two injuries. In Iran’s Semnan province, six Afghan citizens died and three others were injured. Similar events have also been reported in Farah and Jowzjan provinces.
Traffic accidents remain one of the leading causes of unnatural deaths in the country. The recent rise in these incidents raises concerns about the condition of the roads, vehicle oversight, and preventive measures by the Taliban administration — issues that require serious attention and action to prevent further loss of life.
