Car Overturns in Maidan Wardak, Killing Four and Injuring Four Others

A car overturned in the Dasht-e Toop area of Seyyedabad district in Maidan Wardak province, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuring four others. The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 16th. Bakhtar News Agency, which operates under Taliban administration control, reported that the vehicle veered off the road due to high speed and subsequently overturned. Among the deceased are three women and one child. No further details have been released regarding the condition of the injured or the medical treatment they have received. It is also unclear whether an official investigation into the incident has been initiated. Traffic accidents on Afghanistan’s highways and roads claim many victims every year. Factors such as deteriorating transportation infrastructure, lack of traffic signs, driver negligence, and weak oversight by responsible authorities are major causes of these incidents—issues that citizens have repeatedly urged the Taliban administration to address seriously.
