Mung Bean Yield in Logar Province Increases by 12 Percent

Officials from the Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department of Logar province report a 12 percent increase in mung bean yields compared to last year. According to the department, mung beans have been cultivated on hundreds of hectares of land across various areas in Logar this year, resulting in a production of over 200 tons.

Nasiruddin Bahij, the head of agricultural affairs at the department, stated that preventing plant diseases, raising farmers’ awareness, and their increased interest in cultivating mung beans are the main factors behind the yield increase.

Officials also noted that awareness programs and technical consultations provided to farmers throughout the year have played an important role in improving both the quality and quantity of production.

Meanwhile, some farmers in Logar say that mung beans require less water compared to other crops and offer a reasonable economic return. They expressed hope that with better marketing facilities, they will be able to earn greater profits from this crop.
