Afghan Representative Meets GCC Secretary-General in Riyadh to Discuss Bilateral Relations

Abdul Fattah Muallavi Sakhi, Chargé d’Affaires of the Afghan Embassy in Saudi Arabia, met with Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), to discuss relations between Afghanistan and the regional organization, as well as current developments.

The meeting took place on Sunday at the GCC Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, both sides reviewed the status of existing cooperation and emphasized the importance of maintaining ongoing communications.

According to a statement released by the GCC, the two parties also discussed several shared interests. However, specific details regarding the exact topics of the discussions have not been disclosed.

The two sides additionally exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments. The Gulf Cooperation Council, as a key regional body in the Gulf, has played an active role in recent years concerning political and security developments in the region.
