Three Dead, 15 Injured in Traffic Incidents in Maidan Wardak During Eid al-Adha

The police command of Maidan Wardak province has announced that during the days of Eid al-Adha, a total of 12 traffic incidents in the province resulted in three deaths and 15 injuries. According to the source, these incidents occurred in the provincial center, Maidan city, as well as in several districts of Maidan Wardak. No further details have been provided regarding the exact causes of these accidents or the health status of the injured. Maidan Wardak is one of the key provinces along the Kabul-Kandahar highway, a route that consistently experiences heavy vehicle traffic. In recent years, factors such as lack of organized traffic management, poor road conditions in some sections of the highway, and driver negligence have been identified as causes of recurring similar incidents. Despite increased travel during the Eid holidays, the Taliban administration has yet to clarify any specific plans to reduce traffic accidents and strengthen preventive measures in this province—a matter that continues to raise concerns among local residents.
