Taliban Foreign Minister and Qatari Ambassador Discuss Regional Developments

Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s acting Foreign Minister, met with Murad Al-Qashouti, Qatar’s ambassador to Kabul, to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued engagement and monitoring ongoing developments in the region.
During the meeting, Mr. Muttaqi expressed hope for a permanent end to the war, referring to the current regional situation. He also conveyed condolences regarding recent attacks and stressed the necessity of reducing tensions.
In response, the Qatari ambassador highlighted his country’s commitment to maintaining interaction with Afghanistan and provided information about the latest regional status. He described dialogue and diplomatic cooperation as crucial for managing existing challenges.
In recent years, Qatar has been one of the most active countries in Afghanistan’s diplomatic arena, with meetings between officials of both sides primarily focused on political relations and regional developments.
