Taliban’s Acting Foreign Minister Meets Qatar’s Ambassador in Kabul to Discuss Regional Ties

Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban administration, met with Mirdaf Al-Kashouti, Qatar’s ambassador in Kabul, to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations and the regional situation.

On Monday, June 4, the Taliban administration’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that during the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation and reviewing recent regional developments. According to the statement, Muttaqi welcomed the cessation of what he described as “active wars” in the region, emphasizing the necessity of continuing the ceasefire and reducing tensions. He also called for maintaining stability and preventing the spread of conflicts.
