Suicide Bombing on Quetta Train Kills 34, Injures 96 in Pakistan

Local sources have reported that a suicide bombing targeting a passenger train on the Quetta–Chaman route has killed 34 people and injured at least 96 others. The incident occurred on Sunday near the Chaman Fateh railway crossing in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. So far, Pakistani police and official authorities have not confirmed these figures.

According to Pakistani media, the explosion took place as the passenger train was passing through the area. The blast was so intense that several train cars derailed and parts of the railway surroundings caught fire. The sound of the explosion was heard across parts of the city.

Rescue sources stated that the injured have been transferred to Quetta Civil Hospital. Health officials at the city’s government hospitals declared an emergency, and medical staff were called in to attend to the wounded.

The so-called ‘Waheed Fidai Majid Brigade,’ affiliated with the Baloch Liberation Army, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Balochistan has witnessed similar security incidents in recent years, raising concerns about the overall security situation in the province.
