Taliban’s Anti-Narcotics Unit Graduates 33 Trainees After One-Month Course

Thirty-three individuals affiliated with the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior Anti-Narcotics Unit have graduated from a one-month training course at the unit’s training center. According to officials, the program was organized to enhance the capabilities of personnel in the fight against narcotics.
At the graduation ceremony, certificates were awarded to the graduates, and cash prizes were given to several top performers. Officials emphasized the importance of ethics, proper interaction with the public, and the practical application of the training received.
While the Anti-Narcotics Unit announces the implementation of such programs, the issues of drug cultivation, production, and trafficking remain significant challenges in the country. Despite the Taliban administration’s declaration of strict policies, field reports in recent years indicate a continuing need for transparent, accountable, and sustainable programs in this sector.
Some experts believe that merely conducting short-term training courses without effective oversight and clear accountability to the public cannot fundamentally control the drug problem. It is expected that the Taliban administration will provide further explanations and concrete actions regarding this matter.
