Taliban’s Anti-Narcotics Police Distribute Cash Aid to 200 Needy Families in Kabul

The Anti-Narcotics Police under the Taliban administration have distributed cash assistance of 5,000 Afghanis to each of 200 needy and begging families in Kabul province. According to officials, these families were identified and deemed eligible for aid by a responsible committee.
The aid was distributed in the presence of several Taliban officials with the aim of providing economic support to needy families ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
Kabul, as the country’s capital, has faced rising poverty and unemployment in recent years, with an increasing number of families in need residing in some urban areas. However, social experts believe that while one-time cash assistance can address some immediate needs of families, sustainable poverty reduction requires fundamental employment programs and long-term support.
So far, no details have been provided by the Taliban administration regarding the continuation of this aid or similar programs for other provinces.
